Family situation

There are 4 people in her family. Her father does farming. As Huong Lan’s mother has terminal cervical cancer, her father, a farmer, becomes the sole breadwinner of the whole family.He has to care for his ill wife and support his children. Living 8km from the school, Lan spends more than an hour walking to school every day to pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.

  • After the student finishes grade 9, the Foundation will advise her to either enroll in vocational schools or go to senior high school depending on her ability and situation

Nhat Anh's father has an eye disease and is currently unemployed due to a recent accident resulting in a bone fracture. Her mother sells vegetarian noodles, earning about 100,000 VND per day, which is just enough to cover their daily meals. Nhat Anh's parents have 6 children, and three of them are still attending school. Nhat Anh and her twin sister, Minh Anh, are in 12th grade. Their family is facing severe hardship and doesn't have enough money to support their education.
