It has been 50 years since April 30, 1975 – the day our nation was reunified, marking the union of South and North Vietnam. As Vietnam is on the path of growth and development, we have come to realize that the prosperity of a society is not only measured by figures or towering skyscrapers, but also by the values of happiness, love, and the kindness we share. To become a prosperous nation, Vietnam needs to have not only skyscrapers and wide roads but also young generations who are empowered and supported to learn, grow, and turn dreams into reality.
In a letter to the people of Southern Vietnam before his trip to France in June 1946, President Ho Chi Minh wrote: “I encourage all compatriots to stay united. Just like five fingers — some short, some long — yet all come together on one hand […] Only with true solidarity can we achieve glorious results”. In another heartfelt message, Uncle Ho reminded us: “The word ‘People’, in a narrow sense, means family, brothers, relatives, friends. Broadly speaking, it means compatriots all over the country”.
Vietnam is one big family, where every fellow citizen is a brother or sister, united by a shared mission: to make our country better and to uplift our society through kindness, compassion, generosity, and empathy.
Inspired by the spirit of that mission, Be Better Foundation keeps striving every day in the belief that educational opportunities ought to be equal; every underprivileged child deserves a helping hand to change their future. To ensure no one is left behind, education is the key to unlocking a path out of poverty for children and their families.
Every “Change the Future” scholarship from Be Better Foundation is more than a timely gift or financial support for tuition. It reflects the belief and vision of Be Better and all the generous benefactors who stand with us on this path of compassion.
Students supported by Be Better are more than just Vietnamese citizens. They are the future of families and the spark of hope that can transform the next generations. The greatest challenge is not poverty but the cycle of poverty that persists in their families. As our country is flourishing, we hope these little kids will also reach their turning point to rewrite their lives through the power of education.
On the occasion of the Grand Celebration of April 30 — Be Better Foundation sincerely thanks the kind-hearted compatriots: our sponsors, benefactors, collaborators, volunteers, teachers, and the entire Be Better team who have joined us to uplift a bright, talented young generation. Your support enabled them to continue their education and kept their dream of a better future alive. These students will one day take up the torch, passing on the support they once received to those still in need.
Each scholarship opens up a brighter life, a happier family, and a stronger Vietnam.
Be Better would like to express our gratitude for the kindness and compassion of Vietnamese patriots.
