Based on the information gathered in Phase 1, the Be Better Foundation will select students who are eligible to take a thinking test (45 minutes) and participate in a direct interview (15 minutes).
Scoring the Criteria
The jury will meet to evaluate and score the 5 criteria according to the specified point scale:
Each criterion will be scored on a scale of 1 to 10.
The average score of the 5 criteria will be used to determine the scholarship type.

When Minh Thuan was in the 9th grade, his mother left, leaving him to live with his stepfather and a younger half-sibling. Not long after Thuan’s mother left him, she got remarried, cut all their contacts and stopped providing for her 2 children ever since. This left Thuan and his siblings in the care of their stepfather and grandmother.

Her mother, unfortunately, suffers from uterine fibroids. During the time her parents were ill, all the savings in the household were used for their medical treatment.
Quynh Giao's family was once able to get by on her father's teacher's salary. Her mother was also a kindergarten teacher, but she was laid off due to government policy. As a result, only her father could earn a living. Unfortunately, a sudden tragedy befell the family when they learned that her father had very serious kidney disease. Her mother had to find ways to raise money for his treatment, and the family's meager savings were all used for his treatment.Since then, the family has been out of money.
Van Hai’s childhood was a series of unfortunate events. His mother left when he was less than a year old, leaving him to grow up without her love and care. He had hoped to find emotional support in his father, but ever since his father remarried, he no longer cared for or provided for Hai, including his education.
The first tragedy in Cong Huynh's life occurred when his father passed away, leaving a permanent void in the lives of the young Huynh and his mother. His mother worked tirelessly to raise him but, unfortunately, she also left last year to be with his father.
When Huong Tra was 3 years old, her father had a traffic accident that left him with a very low chance of survival. As a result, he had to undergo the removal of part of his skull due to a brain injury. Since her father's accident, the family have lost a pillar of support and faced even greater hardships.
Nhu Y's parents divorced when she was still young. After the divorce, her father left without any later contact, leaving her mother to single-handedly take care of Nhu Y and her two older siblings. For several years, the family has had no news about their father, and her mother has had to endure the consequences of a traffic accident, which resulted in a fractured arm, making it impossible for her to perform strenuous work.
Due to the impact of working in an industrial zone for many years, Hữu Nhân's father unfortunately passed away from spinal cord and lung diseases. Since his father's death, everything in the family has fallen on the shoulders of his mother, who works as a street vendor in the mornings and sells coconut cakes in the afternoons to earn extra income.
