How to give and how much is enough?

Mr. Tran Van Tinh (Tony Tinh), the founder of the Be Better Foundation, is committed to contributing 30% of his time and 20% of his yearly total income to the foundation’s fund. Mr. Lim Chor Ghee, the co-founder of IMM Group, has decided to donate 10% of his dividend from IMM Group. Tony’s other friends and partners contribute to particular projects or regularly.

The projects we have implemented include not only one-time support such as giving shoes and encouraging scholarships to students but also long-term regular support. For the disadvantaged students receiving our long-term financial help to cover their monthly expenses of living and studying, we are like their parents or elder siblings who are willing to support them.

At present, we are carrying out one more project which provides food such as rice, dried fish, and vegetables for schools in remote areas every month. If children there are not given meals, they will have to stop going to school because their parents cannot afford to pay the fee for meals at school.

Be Better Foundation’s long-term plan is to save enough money so that we will rent a place serving as a vocational school where people in difficult circumstances can get free training to get a job because “giving a fishing rod is better than giving fish”. A stable job will help them have better income as well as a better life and ensure their children can go to school.

Therefore, we would like to call for support, based on particular projects or long-term, from benefactors so that we can join hands to make changes in our society. Regular contributions to Be Better Foundation’s fund can be from 1% of your monthly income. We believe that a small amount of money cannot make us richer or poorer, but giving, even just a little, certainly brings us a feeling of happiness and causes positive changes in our world. Giving to help our society never means losing.
