Parents are divorced, Huy and his sister live with his mother, the mother’s health is weak, she works as a hired laborer but cannot pay for her 2 children’s education. 2 children have to work part-time to pay for their own meals, accommodation, and school fees. The situation is very difficult.
Oanh’s parents are separated, she lived with her father in An Giang in grade 12. After graduating from high school, she moves with her mother to Hochiminh City to study at university. Oanh’s mother works as an hourly maid to earn 50,000 VND/hour, it is very difficult to take care of her expensive tuition fees.
At the end of 2021, Tram’s mother had an electrical accident while building a new house and passed away. The mother’s sudden death, leaving six small children alone, was a mental shock to the children. Now only the father tries to earn money to nurture his six young children.
There are two siblings in Thuy’s family. Thuy is the elder sister and is currently studying at Banking University in Ho Chi Minh City. Her parents are sick and have a history of strokes. Neither of Thuy’s parents have a stable job and work as unskilled laborers. Thuy works part time. She has been taking care of her own study expenses since high school.
The Foundation found out about Tam’s situation during the COVID-19 pandemic when the city was on lockdown. Her situation was really difficult. Without any outside support, it is very likely she would not be able to finish university. Therefore, the foundation decided to put her on the long-term support list.

“My shoes on the field – your shoes to school” is an association football tournament for companies and benefactors. It is held by the Be Better Foundation with the purpose of raising fund to buy shoes for poor students in remote areas.
Every day in highland and remote areas, hundreds and thousands of children require eating, studying, and growing up to be good people who benefit society.
