Huong Tra moved back to live with her grandmother, who has been the one to raise her and provide for her studies. Her mother also lived in her own difficulties while trying to support Tra and another daughter’s studies. Therefore, Tra didn’t completely receive her mother’s care and support. Later on, her mother got married and lived far away from their hometown, making it even more challenging for her to be close and take care of Huong Tra. All the daily living expenses and Huong Tra’s tuition fees are shouldered by her grandmother, whose income comes from dried coconuts. The harshness of life, combined with her grandmother’s declining health, has left Huong Tra uncertain about her own future.
