The second day of Be Better family’s “reunion” journey began with a very special morning. We visited the Memorial Site of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet, whom the people affectionately called by the name “Uncle Sau Dan.”
We hope that the solemn atmosphere of the memorial would help students realize that gratitude is not just an emotion; it must be nurtured and demonstrated through responsibility.
We should be grateful to our roots, and to the older generations who sacrificed their lives to build the independence we have today. To express that gratitude, each of us has a responsibility to preserve, develop, and carry on by studying better, living with more kindness, and using our abilities to make the country a better place.
The story of Uncle Sau Dan planted a powerful seed of inspiration in everyone that day: serving our countries is never outdated. Whether as a national leader or a young person in school, everyone can dedicate themselves to their family, community, and society.
And Be Better wants to send a message to the students: Always keep a grateful heart. Gratitude allows us to find the strength to rise after a fall, to stay firm in our ideals, and to live a truly meaningful life.
The second day began with that lesson, which was not found in textbooks but our history, in the breath of the people, and in the heart of each individual – a lesson about gratitude.
