Have you ever wondered what can truly break the cycle of poverty in your hometown?
Many children grow up amid boundless paddy fields whose eyes are filled with dreams yet ways to school are full of obstacles. There are fathers and mothers who never finished third grade, have toiled their entire lives, yet still struggle to put food on the table.
Be Better believes education is the key that can unlock the door to a brighter future for these lives. Poverty includes the absence of material wealth, lack of opportunity and knowledge to understand that they can change their fates.
From the very beginning, Be Better decided to focus on education. We have provided long-term “Change the Future” scholarships to help students continue their education and our Mentorship Program aims to share life journeys of mentors to inspire and affirm students that: “You can do it and you deserve a better life.”
Over the past three years, more than 70 students have received “Change the Future” scholarships, and nearly 6,000 ones participated in the Mentorship Program. What matters to us is not the numbers but knowledge and hope we impart to those students. A well-educated child will grow up to be a good person, capable of transforming their whole family. Moreover, their children will no longer endure the same hardships they once did.
Every day, Be Better Foundation wants to sow more seeds of knowledge so that one day, they will grow into tall trees that shelter areas, communities, and hometowns. The journey to build a sustainable future for Vietnam’s younger generations is long and needs more help.
