Dear kind-hearted sponsors and cherished companions of the Be Better Foundation,
The Be Better Foundation is honored to announce the completion of tuition sponsorship for Bui Thi Bich Thuy, a second-year student majoring in English Language at Dong Thap University. For the past 1.5 years, the Foundation has proudly accompanied Bich Thuy on her educational journey. As of today, Bich Thuy and her family have reached financial stability, and she has proactively requested to end the sponsorship to pass the opportunity on to other students in greater need.
Looking back at the Bich Thuy we met in early 2023—nearly two years ago—we remain filled with pride. Not only because of her strength, passion, and diligence in her studies, but also because of her deep sense of responsibility, empathy, and self-awareness.
Bich Thuy’s background is heartbreaking. She lost both parents at a very young age, and her family was left with only her and her older brother. Due to financial hardship, her brother had to forgo his education and work far from home as a factory laborer. Bich Thuy was entrusted to the care of her uncle and aunt in the countryside. When she was about to enter university, her family situation had not changed. She still relied on her relatives, and her brother’s future remained uncertain. It was at that time that the Foundation met her, and as if destined, we officially supported her throughout 1.5 years of university with a full scholarship.
Recently, the Foundation received an email from Bich Thuy, saying:
“My parents passed away, and my brother and I inherited 4 plots of land, which previously lacked legal documents. Thanks to the help of Mr. Nam (my paternal grandmother’s younger brother), the paperwork has been finalized and the land has now been sold. I plan to use this money to support my studies and daily expenses, so I can continue pursuing my academic goals. Moreover, I wish to return the scholarship I’m receiving from the Foundation to other students in more difficult circumstances, so they may have the opportunity to rise in life, just as I was once helped by the Foundation.”
This is not only a great joy for Bich Thuy and her brother, but also a profound source of pride for the Be Better Foundation. We are proud to have accompanied and supported a young woman so deeply responsible for her own life, honest, and content with what she has. Above all, we are proud of Bich Thuy’s spirit of sharing and her heart that knows when to give.
