During the two days of August 31 and September 1, 2024, the Be Better Fund successfully completed a charitable trip to two schools: Đong Thanh Secondary and High School in Đong Thanh Commune, Binh Minh Town, and Tan Quoi High School, along with the Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center in Binh Tan District, Vinh Long Province.
The specific activities were as follows:
- Mentorship Program – Guiding Mindsets and Preparing for Life
This was one of the two key programs of the Be Better Fund, featuring three speakers:
– Tran Van Tinh (Tony Tinh): Founder of the Be Better Fund, CEO & Founder of IMM Group.
– Hoàng Thế Trung: Head of Investment at KB Asset Management.
– Trần Lâm Bình: CEO of Vietnam-America Tourist Company, Investment Consultant at VPS Securities.
On the afternoon of August 31st, 2024, the Mentorship program was held at Đong Thanh Secondary and High School, with the participation of over 300 students of the 11th and 12th grades.
On the morning of September 1st, 2024, the Mentorship program took place in Binh Tân District, Vĩnh Long Province, with over 300 students in the 12th grade from Tan Quoi High School and the Binh Tan Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center.
- The “Intellectual” Competition.
Like previous programs, the “Intellectual” competition was held alongside the Mentorship program to create a healthy and competitive platform for students. Additionally, it served as a bridge to help students better access the experiences, lessons, and messages conveyed by the speakers.
A summary of the “Intellectual” competition at Đong Thanh Secondary and High School on August 31st, 2024, is as follows:
– Total awards presented: 1 champion prize, 2 team first prizes, 2 team second prizes, 3 individual first prizes, 3 individual second prizes, 2 encouragement prizes, and 11 auxiliary prizes.
– Total prize value: 12,200,000 VND
For the competition at Tan Quoi High School and the Binh Tan Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center on September 1, 2024, the total prize value was as follows:
– Total awards presented: 1 champion prize, 1 runner-up prize, 2 team first prizes, 2 team second prizes, 3 individual first prizes, 3 individual second prizes, 1 encouragement prize, and 11 auxiliary prizes.
– Total prize value: 13,200,000 VND
- Scholarships for Orphaned Students in Difficult Circumstances.
On August 31st, 2024, at Đong Thanh Secondary and High School, the Be Better Fund awarded a total of scholarships to 14 orphaned students facing hardships. Specifically:
– 13 scholarships for students who have lost their father or mother, each valued at 2,000,000 VND.
– 1 scholarship for a student who is orphaned from both parents, valued at 3,000,000 VND.
On September 1st, 2024, at Tan Quoi High School and the Binh Tan Vocational Training and Continuing Education Center, academic incentive scholarships were awarded to 16 students who have lost either their father or mother, each valued at 2,000,000 VND.
- “Change the Future” Scholarship.
Unlike previous charity trips, starting from this trip onwards, the Be Better Fund will no longer conduct direct scholarship interviews during each trip.
Instead, students who wish to receive the “Change the Future” scholarship must proactively learn about the Fund, its regulations, and the application process for the scholarship. Afterward, Be Better Fund and the students will conduct interviews online or in person at Be Better’s office. All grading, evaluation, and assessment processes will follow the existing internal procedures.
