“Give me an old computer, I will change the future.”
To generous benefactors,
In recent times, we have received such concerns more than once.
“Can I borrow money from the Foundation to buy a used computer, Miss? I will try to do a part-time job, making money and paying back the Foundation 500 VND thousand dong each month. I need a computer urgently to study, but I don’t know what to do to realize this. Now I can only rely on the Foundation…
“My family is poor, and I’m a part-time kitchen helper, so I probably can’t afford it.
”Teachers at my university always send our homework on the IMS forum, but this website can only open files on a computer. Our Informatics teacher is going to send homework for us to do every evening to get regular points. I’m really worried about that because I don’t have a computer.”
Although the primary aim of the Be Better Foundation in “Change the Future” campaign is to provide tuition support for students during their university studies, when we heard those words of appeal, we could not help ourselves as if we were their parents, brothers and sisters. We still wanted to give them more help so that they could have the best learning conditions.
Unlike in the past, when students only needed notebooks and textbooks, learning today requires students to use computers and Internet-connected devices. For poor students, even food and tuition fees are a struggle. Buying these devices is simply out of their reach.
Therefore, the Be Better Foundation, on behalf of the poor and studious students, calls on the generous benefactors: Let’s join hands to contribute, each of us a little, so that the students can have a computer to serve their studies more conveniently and optimally.
Up to the present, the Be Better Foundation has been sponsoring and helping over 50 students to continue their dreams of going to school, 35 of whom have just become first-year university students. For now, Be Better is calling for 15 used computers for 15 students who really need them urgently for their studies. The list of students requesting assistance is attached below.
The estimated cost of 15 used computers is over 70 million VND dong. You can contribute money to the Foundation to buy used computers or you can contribute in kind – that is, a used computer that you and your family no longer need.
When we have old computers that are slow or have scratched screens, we may be reluctant to sell them because they will not fetch a high price. However, donating them to poor students can help to keep another student in school.
The Foundation will lend these used computers to the students for a certain period of time.
While the students are borrowing the computers, the Foundation encourages them to work part-time and save a small amount of money each month to buy their own computers. After that, they must return the computers to the Foundation so that other students can borrow them.
The Be Better Foundation and the poor students are eagerly awaiting donations and support from our generous donors. Please join Be Better in making a positive difference and creating a better future for the students’ educational journey.
We are most grateful!
