As having called for donations to the “Please give children some leftovers” campaign in September, the Be Better Foundation made the 4th trip, for 3 days from October 12th to 14th 2022, to give gifts to some schools in Kon Plong District, Kon Tum Province.
We would like to report on the charity trip as follows:
1. Funding preschools’ meals
As planned, the Foundation has funded meals for children in 3 preschools in Kon Plong District since the beginning of October 2022 in the following way:
- The Foundation has signed a contract with a food supplier
- Based on the schools’ weekly demand for food, the Foundation has determined the funding for each school.
- The schools order food from the supplier every week within the funding.
The funding for the schools’ meals will be maintained through the school year 2022-2023 until May 2023.
The funding for the 3 schools:
- The average amount: about VND 29 million/month.
- The total amount for the whole school year: nearly VND 229 million.
List of 3 preschools:
No. | School’s name | Number of students | Number of classes | Estimated funding for the school year 2022-2023 |
1 | Dak Tang Preschool, Dak Tang Commune, Kon Plong, Kon Tum | 122 | 8 | VND 66.646.800 |
2 | Mang Den Town Preschool, Mang Den Town, Kon Plong, Kon Tum | 127 | 8 | VND 66.646.800 |

2. Funding food for primary and secondary schools
According to our plan for primary and secondary schools, the Foundation were going to provide each school with 100kg of dried catfish and yellowtail catfish. Unfortunately, due to the supplier’s improper packaging and unfavorable weather, the dried fish had lost their quality. Therefore, we decided not to donate them to the schools, and replaced them with the same food as for the preschools instead:
- Funding: As these schools have been funded by the Nuoi Em Fund (VND 17.000/student per day), Be Better Foundation has decided to fund more food to supplement the nutrition of the children’s meals. The amount of funding is VND 4.000/student per day.
- Period: Through the school year 2022-2023
- The total amount for the 3 schools is estimated at VND 147 million.
