Change the future scholarship - Be Better Foundation

A person’s life can be changed with just one opportunity. A helping hand extended at the right time can not only lift someone up but also transform an entire generation. Be Better Foundation was established with the mission of creating real opportunities for children facing extreme hardships—those who have resilience, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to rise above their circumstances to become valuable contributors to society.

We believe that when one person changes, their entire family, community, and even society can change as well. Therefore, Be Better Foundation goes beyond financial support—it also nurtures mindset development, builds character, and instills a sense of responsibility, helping children step into the world with gratitude and a spirit of contribution.

A prosperous society is not measured only by skyscrapers or economic charts but is also built upon love, support, and the sharing between people.

Be Better Foundation aims to create a generation that is not only talented but also compassionate—a generation that overcomes adversity and is willing to help others in the future.

When a child receives a good education and has the opportunity to develop, their entire family can escape poverty, and future generations will no longer suffer the same disadvantages.

Each scholarship, each word of encouragement, and each opportunity given does not just change an individual—it can transform a family, a community, and even an entire nation.

Changing the future of A STUDENT means changing the future of A FAMILY
Changing the future of A FAMILY means transforming multiple GENERATIONS.

COMMITMENT & LONG-TERM GOALS

  • Every 10 years, Be Better Foundation commits to changing the lives of at least 200 children, giving them the chance to study and develop themselves to reach a brighter future.
  • By 2045, we aim to support 400 children, creating a network of young individuals with knowledge, determination, and ethical values, ready to contribute to society.
  • By 2060, we strive to help 1,000 children change their lives, fostering a generation that knows how to love, give back, and spread positive values to others.

SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

APPROVAL OF AWARDING YEARLY SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL

1. Renewal Criteria:

The scholarship criteria for new students are set to select potential and qualified students to enable them to continue their educational journey and ultimately contribute to their future transformation. Nevertheless, 18-year-old students who become citizens must take full legal responsibility and manage their own lives. Consequently, those who have been granted the opportunity must demonstrate their worthiness by exerting themselves to develop and change their lives according to their initial life orientation.

The criteria for scholarship renewals for students are as follows

a/ The first criterion group:  Family and personal economic circumstances.

b/ The second criterion group:  Evaluation of student development based on three criteria:

  • Learning and Working Ability
  • Orientational Thinking
  • Lifestyle Mindset

2. Scholarship Renewal Process:

a/ Completing periodic report:

  • Completing periodic reports is not merely to renew scholarships but also to help the Foundation ensure that students are aware of their development actions and provide timely support and guidance as they embark on their future career paths.
  • Students are required to report twice a year, corresponding to two semesters in a school year.
    • End of First Semester: January every year
    • End of Second Semester: July every year
  • Students do their report by completing the following steps:
    • Step 1: Fill out the information in the “Academic Result Report” (Details given by the Foundation after every semester).
    • Step 2: Students must attend a meeting with the Foundation to answer relevant questions about their study (The Foundation will send specific notices to students, requesting that they register for meeting schedules for each semester).

b/ Assessment Principle:

  • From individual periodic reports and regular meetings, the Foundation will assess students’ Developing Levels based on The second criterion group.
  • Focusing on one’s progress over time without comparing them to others.
  • Student’s Developing Level follows these four specific groups:
    • Well-developed: students must demonstrate that they possess the requisite learning and working ability, orientational thinking, and lifestyle mindset.
    • Improved: students have implemented certain improvements compared with the previous period, yet areas still require further improvement.
    • Warning: students are becoming less engaged in their studies, exhibiting a lack of motivation and initiative, and failing to make the necessary effort to improve their prospects.
    • Cancel scholarship: students who fail to meet the Foundation’s scholarship renewal standards show a regression in their academic performance.

c/ Scholarship Renewal Principle:  Scholarship Renewal will be based on the following criteria:

  1. Most importantly, it is essential to conduct a comprehensive review of the student’s current circumstances and assess the individual’s level of development.
  2. The scholarship levels may be increased/ maintained the same/ reduced, or even canceled, as specified in detail under the Foundation’s principles.
