At first glance, Nhu Y appears to have a complete family: both parents, a younger sibling, and a loving grandfather. However, beneath the surface lies a story of resilience, strength, and unyielding determination.
When Nhu Y was just three years old, her parents divorced. From that moment on, they built separate lives and rarely looked back, leaving their children behind. Nhu Y was raised solely by her grandfather. Now over 70 years old, he suffers from the effects of a mild stroke, which has left him unable to work. For years, their household of three has survived on his meager elderly pension and occasional support from relatives.
Despite these hardships, Nhu Y remains committed to her education while also taking care of her ailing grandfather. At just 18 years old, the weight of her family’s survival rests heavily on her shoulders. Without external support, continuing her studies would be impossible, and her future, along with her family’s, would remain trapped in a cycle of hardship.
A turning point in her life came when Nhu Y was officially accepted into the Plant Protection program at Can Tho University. With her unwavering determination and the support of the Be Better Foundation, she now has the opportunity to build a brighter future. The foundation firmly believes that Nhu Y will thrive in her chosen field, fulfill her dreams, and never let down the generous benefactors who have placed their hopes on her.
