Cam Tuoi’s life has been turned into a gloomy picture from a very young age. Her father was killed in 2008 in a crash, and later, her mother left to start a new family and has since ceased all contact or caregiving. Tuoi and her younger brother (currently in grade 10th) were raised with love and care by their paternal grandmother and Aunt Hai.
Aunt Hai’s family was not well-off either. With two biological children of her own, an elderly mother to care for, and now two young nieces to raise, she carried a heavy burden. Every day, come rain or shine, she struggled to earn a living as a peddler selling fried fish balls in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City. Despite the many hardships, Aunt Hai devoted her full love and care to the two nieces as if they were her own, taking full responsibility for their living and educational expenses. Fortunately, her eldest son now has a stable job and can provide some support to the family.
Cam Tuoi is fully aware of her family’s circumstances and has consistently strived in her studies, achieving commendable academic results. She has a clear vision for her future, knows how to leverage her strengths, and remains persistent in pursuing her passions. Losing both parents at a young age has not broken her; on the contrary, it has nurtured in her a warm heart filled with compassion and a desire to help those less fortunate. Although Aunt Hai can only support her by co-signing a bank loan to continue her education, Tuoi remains determined because she knows that education is her only hope to change her future.
