Family situation

My Tien’s family lives in extreme poverty, as hardship after hardship continues to strike. Her father, after a serious accident, lost the ability to work and can no longer support the family. The burden of living expenses now rests entirely on her mother’s frail shoulders. Tien’s mother once fought against cancer, and despite successfully overcoming it, her health has been significantly weakened. Even so, she still works as a hired laborer, picking beans late into the night for a meager wage just enough to help the family subsist.

Neither of Tien’s parents had the opportunity to receive a proper education. That very fact makes them cherish every single day their daughter is able to attend school. Though life remains extremely difficult and Tien is on the verge of dropping out of school, her mother still wholeheartedly devotes herself to Tien.

Amid these overwhelming challenges, My Tien has remained dedicated to her studies, consistently achieving excellent academic results over the years. Her kindness and determination have earned her the love and respect of her teachers and peers. After the national high school graduation exam, Tien was proudly accepted into the Food Technology program at Can Tho University, taking her first step toward a dream of lifting her family out of poverty through education.
