Family situation
Phuong Linh is fortunate to have both her mother and father. However, her family faces financial struggles. Linh’s father works as a mason, earning about 250,000 VND per day, but if there are no available projects, this income disappears. Her mother stays home to manage the household and takes on any job she can to help cover school expenses for her two children, doing everything from housework to gardening. Linh has a younger sister who is in 9th grade. Supporting both children, especially as they approach crucial milestones in their education, is her family’s biggest challenge.
Undeterred by hardship, Linh has steadily pursued her dream of becoming a tour guide. She shared with Be Better Foundation her goal to apply for the Tourism or Tourism Management program at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture.
In 2024, Linh proudly became a freshman in the Tourism and Hospitality Management program, specializing in tour guidance, fulfilling her long-held ambition. This accomplishment is not only a sign of a promising future but also proof of Linh’s resilience, determination, and abilities. These qualities affirm to Be Better Foundation that she truly deserves the support and trust of the Foundation and generous donors.

- Career counseling, job orientation support, assistance with part-time employment, and participation in the Mentorship program – designed to provide education and mindset guidance for life readiness.
- Conditions for Continued Support
- Students must demonstrate consistent effort in their studies and in improving their personal circumstances.
- The Be Better Foundation will conduct an annual review for the renewal of the “Change the Future” scholarship. This review aims to closely monitor and evaluate improvements in students’ personal, financial, and academic conditions. Continued support is contingent upon students showing measurable progress in their studies and personal lives, while also meeting the Foundation’s criteria.
