Thuy Tram grew up under the care of her mother and grandmother after her parents’ divorce. With her father absent and her mother working tirelessly as a factory worker to make ends meet, their small family of three relied on one another to navigate life’s hardships. Despite the struggles, hope and resilience remained steadfast in their hearts. In 2023, another storm struck when Tram’s mother lost her job during a company downsizing. The family’s financial foundation crumbled as her mother was left with only 5 million VND in monthly unemployment benefits to support three generations. Adding to the burden, her mother was prohibited from seeking other work, and her grandmother, with advanced age, could no longer contribute financially. In this dire situation, all the dreams and aspirations of the family now rested on Thuy Tram’s young but determined shoulders.
A turning point arrived with the acceptance letter from the Economic Law program at Ho Chi Minh City Open University. It was more than just a ticket to higher education—it symbolized the years of unwavering effort and determination Tram had poured into her studies. With the support of the Be Better Foundation, Tram now has the strength and encouragement to pursue her dreams, not just for herself but to build a brighter future for her family as well.
