Thanh Binh is a devoted daughter, an outstanding student, and a shining example of perseverance. From a young age, her parents were no longer together, and her mother had to leave home to work far away to provide for Thanh Binh and her younger sister. With a modest factory worker’s salary, her mother could barely cover their daily meals and basic living expenses.
Thanh Binh and her sister live with their grandparents. Every day, they ride a donated bicycle to school, covering a 12-kilometer journey, which is not a small distance. Yet, despite the long ride, Binh remains committed to her education, ensuring her sister attends school alongside her. She deeply understands her family’s hardships and cherishes her mother’s sacrifices, which fuels her determination to excel in her studies. For 11 consecutive years, she has maintained her status as an outstanding student – a gift of gratitude for her mother’s relentless efforts. The Lunar New Year is the happiest time for Binh, as it marks the rare occasion when her mother returns home, reuniting the family.
The first milestone in Binh’s passion for technology and agriculture was reached in 2023 when she became a Biotechnology student at Can Tho University. Studying the field she loves and pursuing her dreams, Thanh Binh is poised for an extraordinary journey. The Be Better Foundation believes that her dedication will not only transform her own future but also make her a pillar of support for her family and a valuable contributor to her community and society.
