My Duyen’s family ceased to exist in its entirety when she was only 10 years old, following her parents’ divorce. Her mother remarried, and Duyen now has a younger half-sister. Her father has yet to remarry, but he doesn’t provide regular financial support. He only offers help when Duyen urgently asks him. Duyen didn’t experience the full love and care of her parents while growing up, and even more challenging, she suffers from ischemic heart disease. Yet she still has the love of her grandparents, who have cared for her since she was just three months old. Now, after 18 years, her grandparents are in their sixties, with declining health, making it harder for them to support her.
Nevertheless, these circumstances and health conditions have never hindered her dream of becoming an interpreter. She shared with Be Better Foundation that she is determined to pursue English Language Studies at Saigon University.
With all her hard work and dedication, Duyen’s dream has come true. Currently, she is a student in the English Language program at Saigon University. Though the road ahead may be filled with challenges, Be Better Foundation believes she will stay on her chosen path, striving for a brighter future for her family and, most importantly, for herself.
