Family situation
Y Hang belongs to an ethnic minority community residing in Mang Canh commune, Kon Plong district, one of Vietnam’s poorest districts, within Kon Tum. The lives of the local people here are full of difficulties as they lack access to necessities.
Hang’s family is among the impoverished households in the district. Their access to food is limited, and their daily meals primarily consist of vegetables, with meat being a luxury they seldom enjoy. Hang’s father stopped his studies after junior high school and has worked as a farmer ever since. Hang also has a younger brother who is only 6 years old. Despite these hardships, she has a beautiful dream of becoming a teacher and is determined to walk an hour to school each day to pursue her dream.
Support from Be Better Foundation
- Pay the entire cost of their schooling, including tuition fees, medical insurance, books, uniforms, stationery, etc.
- After the student finishes grade 9, the Foundation will advise her to either enroll in vocational schools or go to senior high school depending on her ability and situation
- Condition: The Foundation will only support her on the condition that she maintains her studies until graduation.
