“Please Give Children A Dream!”
Be Better Foundation implements the campaign to build a book library for poor students in remote areas with the hope that “Books will inspire them to have a dream”, “a dream that can change a life”, ”Changing one child’s life will change many generations in the future”

As a student in 7th grade, while cycling ten kilometers from Binh Minh to Can Tho University to learn English, I saw a group of tour guides speaking English very well and travelling in a car. It looked very “cool” to me. After that, I harbored a simple dream of becoming “a tour guide”- like them. That dream has changed me. Something in my subconscious kept urging me to learn English well, and my dream finally came true. Not only did I become a tour guide but I have been able to do much better things as well.
- Children’s dreams can start from many sources of motivation. It can be a situation happening around, or it can come from a story, an encouraging statement, an instruction, etc… Among them, books are considered a rich source of inspiration.
Books give children more knowledge and awareness. In addition, good stories and inspirational experiences shared in books can give children a dream. A dream can change a life and changing a child’s life will lead to changing many generations in the future”.
While we are helping to provide food, shoes, and money for children to go to school, we also have a dream of building libraries in remote areas so that children there can have access to knowledge.
Be Better Foundation would like to call for help from the public with this project. Benefactors can give money which will be used to buy books or donate old books.
Kinds of books recommended for children are:
- Encyclopedia: books about science, the plant and animal world, and general knowledge.
- Books about success stories and inspirational stories of overcoming difficulties.
- Self-help books.
- Books about ethics and filial piety.
- Bilingual English – Vietnamese books about stories or general knowledge.
- English-Vietnamese and Vietnamese-English dictionaries.

The situation of Ngo Thanh Phuong Thi
The sponsorship for Thi has been completed. She graduated in Nov. 2023 and got a job as an English teacher.
The situation of Vo Thi Yen Linh
The sponsorship for Linh has been completed. After her first year of study, Yến Linh quickly adapted to the dynamic environment in Ho Chi Minh City and managed to earn money to cover her tuition fees. She voluntarily withdrew from her scholarship to give the opportunity to another student who was in greater need.
The situation of Nguyen Thi Mong An Binh
An Binh’s family situation is complex. Her parents divorced when she was six, and then she lived with her mother and grandmother. However, her mother remarried 4 yeas ago and left her town to live with her new family. Since then, her grandmother, who is a scrap collector with a very low amount of money earned per day, has had to struggle to cover their living expenses.
The situation of two siblings Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Nhi
The sponsorship for Nhi has been completed. She graduated in March 2023 and got a job as a receptionist.
The situation of Bui Thi Bich Thuy
Bich Thuy's childhood is an extremely unfortunate story as she is an orphan, having lost both her father and mother. She still has an older brother, but due to their extremely difficult family circumstances, he had to give up his studies and work tirelessly as a construction worker in Dong Nai to support himself and his younger sister.
The situation of Tran Thi Kieu Oanh
The sponsorship has been completed. Currently, Kiều Oanh is balancing both work and study, becoming independent to earn money to cover living expenses and pursue her education.
Family situation of Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram
Stop funding the scholarship because Ngoc Tram decided not to pursue her studies after graduating high school.
