Since then, Linh has received the care and upbringing of her grandmother. Her grandmother supports her by making and selling cakes, earning an unstable income. To make ends meet, her grandmother often stayed up late, leading to a decline in her health. When Linh’s grandma reached 70, she fell seriously ill and could no longer continue her cake-making profession.
All living expenses and the cost of Yen Linh’s studies rely entirely on her youngest uncle, who is struggling to make a living in Ho Chi Minh City. On average, each month, Yen Linh and her grandmother can only cover all the expenses with just 1.5-2 million VND from her grandmother, mother, stepfather, and her youngest uncle. Despite the difficult circumstances, Yen Linh is an optimistic and positive young girl who is determined and resilient. She strives every day to fulfill her dream of getting into her desired university and being able to secure a better future to provide a more comfortable life for her family, and contribute her efforts to charitable projects.

Since his father's death, everything in the family has fallen on the shoulders of his mother, who works as a street vendor in the mornings and sells coconut cakes in the afternoons to earn extra income.
