Her uncle is a driver for hire, while his wife is a housewife and sometimes works as a gardener. Thuy has a brother, who works as a construction worker in Dong Nai but does not earn a stable income. Thuy’s family sometimes cannot cover the living expenses. She cannot even pay the entire tuition fees for her schooling without help from other people. Thuy has a dream of becoming a Chemistry teacher. However, she may not be able to achieve that dream if she is not provided with any support.

Huynh’s father passed away when Huynh was a child, and his mother also passed away last year. As a result, Huynh now lives with his grandparents. The whole family relies on the earnings from Huynh’s grandfather, a construction worker who suffers from heart disease. Nhan's family is classified as a "household in near poverty". When Nhan just became a 5th-grade student, his father passed away due to his lung and spinal cord diseases after years of working in the industrial park. Nhan's mother is the main provider for him and his younger sister.
Nhat Anh's father has an eye disease and is currently unemployed due to a recent accident resulting in a bone fracture. Her mother sells vegetarian noodles, earning about 100,000 VND per day, which is just enough to cover their daily meals. Nhat Anh's parents have 6 children, and three of them are still attending school. Nhat Anh and her twin sister, Minh Anh, are in 12th grade. Their family is facing severe hardship and doesn't have enough money to support their education.
Several years ago, Huong Tra’s father experienced a serious accident that required spinal and brain surgery. Around the same time, Tra’s mother remarried and was unable to provide for her.
Phuong's father passed away when he was a child, so his mother had to seek employment in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) to send some money home to support Phuong and his two younger siblings. Phuong’s younger siblings have cognitive disabilities that prevent them from attending school. The three children now live with their grandmother, who is over 80 years old.
Duy Nam never has the opportunity to know his father. Sadly, when he was in grade 6, his mother passed away due to a severe illness. Even though not welcomed by his relatives, he was fortunate to have an aunt who was willing to take care of him. To be able to go to school, he has to rely on the social allowances he receives. After school, he works to earn some money and help his aunt.
