After 10 years of individual philanthropic efforts, I decided to found the Be Better Foundation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had to sell my house to sustain my business and aid hundreds of families without food. Moreover, I used a part of the sales to establish the Be Better Foundation. Currently, the Foundation’s primary resources come from me and like-minded friends and business partners. Thanks to social media advertising, the Foundation has received substantial support from the online community, which is truly invaluable.
The Be Better Foundation operates as a non-profit Social Enterprise, legally bound to utilize all profits for charitable and social causes. Founding members, including myself, are strictly prohibited from withdrawing any interest (dividends) from the organization.
Currently, the Be Better Foundation’s primary focus is to provide highland children with nutritious meals and help those in especially difficult circumstances to finish high school, vocational training or pursue higher education. Even though we do not seek project-based support, we request long-term assistance to provide nutritious meals and pay tuition fees for these children. The highland children’s daily meals only consist of rice, vegetables, and salt. Without support, they cannot finish their education, thus not being able to transform their life. After high school, most of these children end up in menial jobs, marry, and have kids. This vicious circle has been keeping many highland children trapped in their circumstances.
I and the other co-founders of this Foundation are just ordinary people: We are not celebrities nor giants of some industries. We only have stable jobs with decent incomes, and it is from these earnings that we allocate a portion for charity work. Every year, I set aside from 500 million to 1 billion to contribute to the Foundation. This has never changed ever since the establishment of the Foundation. However, with its being legally recognized, I hope to appeal to like-minded philanthropists to join hands in creating significant changes in society.
I do not keep up with the showbiz, nor am I familiar with how they used to do charity work. Regardless, in the Be Better Foundation, we do it with all our hearts. Not only do we take our own time but also put personal effort and money into doing it. The Foundation adheres to legal standards with licenses, annual audits, and comprehensive reports. Before trusting us, we encourage readers to do their research—an act we welcome. Our website offers all the information about our licenses, operational details, and audit reports. You can also take action or go on charity trips with us. Readers should diligently research before deciding to trust us.
