Three children from the family are currently studying at primary and secondary school in Tan Thien, Lagi, Binh Thuan. She voluntarily withdrew from her scholarship to give the opportunity to another student who was in greater need.
An Binh’s family situation is complex. Her parents divorced when she was six, and then she lived with her mother and grandmother. However, her mother remarried 4 yeas ago and left her town to live with her new family. Since then, her grandmother, who is a scrap collector with a very low amount of money earned per day, has had to struggle to cover their living expenses.
The sponsorship for Nhi has been completed. She graduated in March 2023 and got a job as a receptionist.
Bich Thuy's childhood is an extremely unfortunate story as she is an orphan, having lost both her father and mother. She still has an older brother, but due to their extremely difficult family circumstances, he had to give up his studies and work tirelessly as a construction worker in Dong Nai to support himself and his younger sister.
