Family situation

Kieu Oanh’s parents have been separated for many years. During her 12th-grade year, Oanh lived with her father in An Giang province. When she turned 18, she along with her mother moved to Ho Chi Minh City so that she could pursue her studies at university. Unfortunately, the monthly income from her mother’s part-time job, which pays 50,000 VND per hour, and her father’s job in lightbox production, is insufficient to cover Oanh’s extremely large tuition fees at university.

Realizing the gravity of her situation, Kieu Oanh dedicated herself to finding part-time jobs both to support her study and to help make ends meet.

Sponsorship covering 50% of tuition fees for vocational, college, or university education.
Career counseling, job orientation support, assistance with part-time employment, and participation in the Mentorship program – designed to provide education and mindset guidance for life readiness.
Conditions for Continued Support
- Students must demonstrate consistent effort in their studies and in improving their personal circumstances.
- The Be Better Foundation will conduct an annual review for the renewal of the “Change the Future” scholarship. This review aims to closely monitor and evaluate improvements in students’ personal, financial, and academic conditions. Continued support is contingent upon students showing measurable progress in their studies and personal lives, while also meeting the Foundation’s criteria.
